Matthew Lessall is a London-born, New York-raised casting director and two-term former President of the Casting Society (CSA).

After earning a degree in Communications from DePauw University and studying acting at LAMDA in London, he discovered his passion for casting, training under mentors such as Jeremy Zimmermann, Eve Brandstein, Roger Mussenden, and Susan Shopmaker.
With dual U.S. and U.K. citizenship, Lessall has cast acclaimed features, series, pilots, and new media projects worldwide, working across genres from YA to comedy and horror. His credits include Mean Creek, Rocket Science, Deidra & Laney Rob a Train, Chronic (Cannes Palme d’Or winner), and Miss Stevens (SXSW Best Actress). He has held executive roles at 20th Century Fox and consulted for Paramount Television Studios on projects like Shooter, Urban Cowboy, and Berlin Station.
His accolades include multiple Artios wins and a Canadian Screen Award nomination for The Swearing Jar, shared with Nicole Hilliard-Forde. A member of BAFTA, CSA, and ICDA, Lessall is known for his keen eye for emerging talent and his innovative contributions to independent film casting.
